1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Storivo handles personal information collected through storivo.com, the questionnaire on our quote page, and the accounts and support channels we use once you become a customer. It doesn't cover the Customer Content our customers store inside their Storivo buckets; that's addressed separately in Section 5 and in our Terms of Service, because we're processing that data on our customers' behalf, not collecting it about them.

2. Information we collect

We collect a few different categories of information, depending on how you interact with us:

3. How we use information

We use the information above to respond to questionnaire submissions and prepare quotes, set up and administer accounts, bill for the service, provide support, secure the platform against fraud and abuse, understand how storivo.com is used so we can improve it, and comply with legal obligations. If you've asked us to follow up about a quote, we'll email you about that; we won't add you to ongoing marketing email without a clear way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing privacy@storivo.com.

4. How we share information

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We share it only in a few specific situations: with infrastructure and service providers who help us run storivo.com and the Storivo platform (for example, hosting, email delivery, and payment processing), under contracts that limit them to using it only to provide that service to us; when required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order; to protect the rights, safety, or security of Storivo, our customers, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we'd expect the receiving party to honor this policy for information collected under it.

5. White-label sub-accounts & end-client data

Hosting companies and MSPs on Growth Partner and Scale Partner plans can create white-labeled sub-accounts and store their own clients' data through Storivo. In that arrangement, our customer (the hosting company or MSP) is the controller of their end clients' data and is responsible for their own privacy notices and consents; Storivo acts as a processor, storing that data only as instructed by our customer and using it only to provide the storage service, not for our own purposes. If you're an end client of one of our hosting partners and have questions about your data, please start with that provider; they can reach us at support@storivo.com if they need our help.

6. Cookies & analytics

storivo.com uses a small number of cookies: some are strictly necessary (for example, to remember your session on the site), and some support basic, aggregated analytics so we can see which pages are useful and which aren't. We don't use cookies for cross-site ad targeting. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; doing so shouldn't affect your ability to browse the site, though it may affect saved preferences.

7. Data retention

We keep questionnaire submissions and quote-related correspondence for as long as needed to follow up and, if you become a customer, as part of your account record thereafter; if you don't move forward, we retain it for a reasonable period in case you return, and delete it on request. Account and billing records are kept for the length of your subscription plus the period required by tax and accounting law afterward. Support tickets are retained long enough to be useful for future support and quality review, and we periodically purge older records that no longer serve a business purpose.

8. Data security

We apply technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring, to protect the information described in this policy. Because the security of the storage platform itself, including how customer data in buckets is protected, is a big enough topic on its own, we've written it up separately in our Security Manifesto.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, email privacy@storivo.com; we'll verify your identity and respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK, or a U.S. state with its own privacy law, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, though we'd appreciate the chance to resolve it directly first.

10. International data & storage regions

Storivo's storage infrastructure is organized by region, and Scale Partner customers can choose multi-region replication for their data. Where personal information described in this policy is transferred across borders, for example between our support systems and infrastructure providers, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law for that transfer.

11. Children's privacy

Storivo is a business-to-business service intended for use by adults acting on behalf of a company. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@storivo.com and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law changes. For material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, notify active customers directly. We encourage checking back periodically if you're a frequent visitor.
