If you're a web hosting company or MSP, your clients don't need to know that Storivo is the storage layer underneath their backups or CDN; as far as they're concerned, it's part of your service. Here's how to set that up on Growth Partner and Scale Partner plans.

1. Create a sub-account per client

Rather than putting every client's data in one shared bucket under one set of credentials, create a separate sub-account for each client (or client tier). This keeps billing, access keys and usage limits cleanly separated, and means a compromised key for one client can't expose another client's data.

2. Set up your branded portal

Growth Partner and above includes a custom-domain portal your clients can log into to see their own storage usage, for example storage.yourhostingcompany.com instead of a Storivo-branded URL. To set it up:

  1. Add a CNAME record pointing your chosen subdomain at the address we provide during onboarding.
  2. Upload your logo and pick your brand colors in the partner dashboard.
  3. Choose whether client-facing emails (usage alerts, invoices) send from your domain or Storivo's; most partners use their own.

3. Decide how you'll bill clients

Most partners choose one of two models:

Either way, the usage and billing dashboard breaks down consumption by sub-account so you can reconcile what you're being charged against what you're charging clients.

4. Connect client backups or CDN origin

Once a sub-account exists, point that client's backup software or CDN configuration at their sub-account's endpoint and credentials, the same way you would for a single Storivo account. If clients use WHM/cPanel or Plesk, see the control panel integration guide.

Consider Object Lock for client backups by default If you're reselling backup storage, turning on Object Lock at the sub-account level protects your clients' backups from ransomware without requiring them to configure anything themselves. See the Object Lock guide.

5. Build a simple client onboarding checklist

A short internal checklist keeps rollout consistent as you add clients:

  1. Create sub-account and generate scoped access keys
  2. Set the client's storage tier and, if applicable, Object Lock retention
  3. Connect their backup software, CDN, or hosting control panel
  4. Run a test backup or upload and confirm it appears in the client's usage dashboard
  5. Send the client their portal login, if they'll have direct visibility
